The majority of the most poor people in the world are women, we know it's depressing but someone needs to point it out. In no country on earth are women economically equal to men, and the UK is no exception. The cause of gendered poverty is structural.
It is entrenched in our workplace settings, and embedded in our personal relationships. Unpaid care giving responsibilities can prevent paid employment opportunities, and this care giving work (for children and relatives) disproportionately falls to women.
As of the May 2019 Fortune list, only 33 women (6.6%) were CEOs of Fortune 500 companies. Globally, women earn 16% less in average hourly wages with large variations between countries. And this list goes on and on 'and these are current statistics. How can we change these numbers ? We believe Empowering women and promoting gender equality is the way and thats why we built this brand.
